Under general supervision of the technical or operations manager of IR incumbent provides immediate supervision to technical and support staff. Oversees staff schedule and ensures efficient daytoday operation of the IR division. Incumbent ensures quality assurance of services competence of staff and maintenance of imaging equipment.
Provides immediate supervision to Interventional Radiology personnel.
Responsible in partnership with the nursing supervisor for efficient patient throughput by adjusting the schedule throughout the day accordingly with MD in charge of the day.
Ensures proper quality and quantity of work done by technical and support staff prepares daily work assignments and reassigns personnel as required.
Assures proper completion of documentation by technologists including RIS HIIQ Image QC Powerscribe 360 etc.
Communicates and coordinates with staff and service personnel regarding equipment problems. Communicates to Technical Manager Operations Manager and Director accordingly.
Ensures proper stock of supplies including linen and other med/surg supplies needed to support IR operations.
Coordinates all orientations and supervises all technical and clinical support staff in Interventional Radiology. Provides immediate supervision and assigns work evaluates technologist performance and ensures ongoing training. Approves time off requests and monitors attendance and tardiness.
Functions as a liaison between physicians nurses technologists and support staff. Explains department procedures resolves problems and coordinates activities which affect dayto day patient care.
Ensures all information regarding procedural or operational changes in the department is communicated to appropriate Department and Hospital personnel.
Is an active participant in Tech meetings and team huddles.
Implements work schedules and sets work assignments. Responsible for utilizing perdiem employees to fill vacant shifts in order to reduce overtime costs.
In collaboration with the Operations Manager and Technical Manager assists in the organization of new employee orientation and preceptorship of new technologists and mentorship of new and returning students to Interventional Radiology. Must maintain all preceptorship and mentorship requirements.
Responsible for all time tracking and recording of payroll in KRONOS.
Performs evaluations and recommendations in collaboration with technical and operations manager regarding additional equipment and technical procedures.
Provide input regarding staff evaluations to Technical Manager and Operations Manager.
Notifies Radiology Department engineers and vendor service personnel of equipment failure. Manages service log and device preventive maintenance schedules in addition to all aspects of PACS operations related image processing
Responsible for conducting auditing for the unit including: undictated or uncompleted cases or reports; radiation dose reporting and HI IQ /RFID data entry compliance. Works with support personnel radiologists technologists and area specific Unit Operations Manager/ Director to ensure compliance with all auditing and data processing standards.
Coordinates annual lead apron QC and monthly staff dosimeter readings
Ensure that all Department Hospital and Joint Commission guidelines are met. Ensures that the physical environment is maintained. Establishes as needed and relays to staff all fire and safety regulations for the area following established protocols and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission OSHA HH and Hospital guidelines.
Performs all duties of an IR Technologist as needed

Requirements:
- MA Rad Tech License
- ARRT Certified
- AMA approved radiography training certificate program or Associates
- 35 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years experience within Interventional Radiology
