Yupo Chan Director of the School of Engineering & Engineering Technology

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites nominations and applications for the position of Yupo Chan Director of the School of Engineering & Engineering Technology (SEET). The Director will hold an endowed position made possible by a generous gift from the Yupo and Susan Chan Charitable Trust. This role entails providing visionary leadership to advance the Schools academic and research programs while ensuring the responsible stewardship of endowed resources. SEET seeks a director who will help empower the schools diverse and innovative units to build on their achievements and take the next steps forward. Reporting to the Dean of the Donaghey College of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics the director will work cooperatively with the dean and faculty to further the schools ambitious goals.

UA Little Rock classified as an R2: Doctoral University High research activity by the Carnegie Foundation is Arkansass premier metropolitan university and enrolls over 8000 full and parttime students. The university offers baccalaureate masters and doctoral degrees across more than thirty departments in three degreegranting colleges and a law school. UA Little Rock located in Central Arkansas and its capital city provides a unique environment that combines a fastpaced business and technology hub with cultural offerings and deep ties to the Little Rock community. The School of Engineering & Engineering Technology offers a dynamic and innovative environment housing ABETaccredited programs in Electrical & Computer Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Its mission is to prepare graduates for successful careers through a highquality curriculum handson laboratory experiences cuttingedge research and access to stateoftheart facilities. Dedicated faculty and staff prioritize student success and engagement.

The Director will engage in strategic planning program development faculty recruitment and development budget management and fostering partnerships with industry and the community. Collaboration with faculty staff and students is essential to enhance the Schools reputation promote research initiatives and ensure the delivery of highquality educational experiences.

In its next Director SEET seeks a collaborative innovative leader with a record of successful administrative accomplishments and teaching and scholarly contributions that merit appointment at the rank of full professor in an academic discipline within SEET. Superior communication skills a proven track record of leading and managing organizational change and a demonstrated commitment to diversity equity and inclusion are essential. Candidates with successful fundraising and external relations experience the proven ability to work with funding agencies knowledge of ABET accreditation and experience growing a department or school will be at a decided advantage. A PhD is required.
