Our Project Delivery Group (PDG) helps clients with worldclass project delivery from studies to building assets operating the assets and developing efficiencies through our people methodologies governance and systems. Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe efficient and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining infrastructure and energy sectors.
The Tunnels Mechanical group provides specialized mechanical design expertise within Hatchs Infrastructure Sector. The group primarily supports the Hatch Tunnels Rail and Transit and Aviation practices in the mechanical design of transit and rail stations transit and rail tunnels nonstation public infrastructure facilities and nonpublic infrastructure support facilities. Our capabilities span the entire project lifecycle including project scoping conceptual design feasibility studies detailed engineering construction and commissioning support and project management.
Our Mississauga team is currently seeking dedicated Senior Mechanical Designers to lead infrastructure projects design work. TheSenior Mechanical Designer is broadly responsible for development of the 3D Model and 2D drawings while leading model design reviews and milestone reviews. Senior Mechanical Designers are responsible to progressively elaborate 3D models and 2D drawings to develop of mechanical designs that are technically coherent and compliant for our clients. In addition the designer provides regular support to the various discipline engineers and the construction team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to Quality and Safety in design
- Designs proficiently in 3D and 2D design environments
- Works and communicates positively as the mechanical discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team of design leads
- Ensures mechanical design activities align with the overall project mission and user requirements
- Ensures successful delivery of major milestone reviews for all assigned design packages
- Delivers 3D model drawings and clash detection reports
- Performs checks of 3D models and drawings developed by others
- Responsible for managing budgets schedule and deliverables related to the design
- Works with construction to align deliverables with contractual requirements
- Provides mentorship and supervision to the design team
- Provide regular feedback to the mechanical project lead on progress with preparation of deliverables
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in the 3D/2D mechanical design development of HVAC plumbing and drainage and fire protection project scope
- Minimum of 4 years experience with REVIT design modelling software (Mechanical)
- Experience working and coordinating within a multidiscipline design project
- Experience in mentoring young professionals
- Knowledge of project delivery including the activities interfaces and interdependence of all project disciplines.
- Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to engage and coordinate the design with client representatives
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong deliverable focus with a proven ability to attain quality and schedule objectives while maintaining budgets.
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield interfaces including constructability experience
