About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager you will assist with daily accounting tasks financial reconciliations and reporting ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and regulations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in finance operations within a dynamic multinational insurance company environment. This position will be based in Madrid Spain on a hybrid work schedule 3 days in office/2 days remote).
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Support all daytoday finance operational activities within the finance remit including: AP & expense accounting Intercompany invoicing process and invoices Vendor management Concur (T&E) management for Travel and entertainment expenses Fixed Assets & Leases analysis Payroll Balance sheet reconciliations.
General Accounting: Assist with the preparation posting and reconciliation of journal entries related to insurance programs ensuring timely and accurate financial data.
Intercompany Reconciliation: Collaborate with global offices to perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure accurate crossborder financial reporting.
Financial Reporting: Contribute to monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles preparing data for internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to systems implementation including impact assessment process definition and UAT of same.
Develop and maintain end to end process documentation covering key processes to support financial control.
Support the internal and external audit teams on operational finance matters.
With international treasury ensure optimal processes for processing payments with appropriate disbursement controls and for anticipating large receipts or disbursements.
With international tax team ensure optimal process for expense allocations and related intercompany billing and settlement.
Provide support to Finance Operations Manager on various projects as required.
Support finance operations with initiatives relating to growth plans including launch of new products integration of new systems and processes.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in Economics Finance or Business Administration
57 years finance experience in an audit firm Big Four or an accounting department for a multinational company
Knowledge of USGAAP
Advance mastery of Oracle ERP and usage of Excel
Fluent in English
Highly analytical and detailed with the ability to step away from detail to see the bigger picture and communicate highlevel messages to senior stakeholders.
Team player with a capability of working on own initiative and willing to help others.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload on a continual basis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting in Oracle ERP and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS USGAAP).
Familiarity with insurancerelated accounting practices and terms is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and spot discrepancies.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with global teams and stakeholders.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; fluency in an additional language is a plus.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
