The University of Miami Health System at Doral has an exciting opportunity for a fulltime Medical Technologist 1 to work onsite in Doral. The Med. Tech. 1 position is eligible for a $5000 Sign on bonus.
The University of Miami Health System will soon open the second phase to our stateoftheart facility in Downtown Doral that serves as a western hub for our distinguished regional network of ambulatory services. This 160000 square foot expansion will continue to bring worldclass academic medicine cuttingedge technology and innovative treatment options to the rapidly growing Doral community. UHealth at Doral will have services through the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Desai Sethi Urology Institute as well as specialties such as cardiology endocrinology otolaryngology gastroenterology dermatology and more. The expansion will provide residents with innovative specialized medical services in the heart of their community. Once complete UHealth at Doral will have 8 operating rooms 3 endoscopy procedure rooms 33 cancer treatment bays over 60 multidisciplinary exam rooms and supporting ancillary services like imaging lab and respiratory therapy. UHealth at Doral will open in September 2024.
The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for Medical Technologist 1. The Medical Technologist performs Hematology Flow Cytometry Urinalysis Chemistry Microbiological Molecular biological and Immunological clinical tests on body specimens to provide data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease. Moreover the incumbent facilitates quality assurance and instrument maintenance.
Verifies identification of specimen with physicians orders prepares specimens for testing and handles all specimens in a safe and careful manner.
Analyzes results of testing and interprets abnormal or unusual results.
Researches and prepares all pertinent patient data and refers all data and testing results to pathologists for evaluation and signout.
Calibrates equipment orders supply and maintains inventory of relevant forms and materials.
Recognizes test inconsistencies and takes appropriate corrective action while supporting laboratory coworkers in resolution of similar problems.
Administers qualitycontrol tests according to procedure and maintains appropriate data recording.
Assumes lead duties and acts as a resource to staff.
Orients and trains employees on laboratory techniques and operations.
Adheres to University and unitlevel policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree required. Bachelors degree in relevant field preferred
A valid unexpired FL. State TN License is required
Two years of relevant Lab experience preferred
Any appropriate combination of relevant education experience and/or certifications may be considered

Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings nights and weekends and holidays as necessary.
