Position Summary:
The Division Director of Acute Services provides leadership and oversight for theAcute Services Division including the implementation and management of theCommunity Behavioral Health Center (CBHC)24/7 Emergency Services (ES) andCrisis Stabilizationprograms. The Director ensures the delivery of integrated highquality and evidencebased services across mental health substance use and crisis intervention programs. This role will lead efforts to provide communitybased alternatives to emergency department visits and inpatient hospitalization through innovative flexible and clientcentered care.
Essential Job Functions:
Clinical and Administrative Leadership:
- Directsthe clinical operations of the CBHC and 24/7 ES programs ensuring the integration of mental health and substance use treatment services.
- OverseestheAdult Mobile Crisis Intervention (AMCI) and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) teams ensuring rapid crisis response safety and stabilization for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
- Supervisesclinical staff including social workers counselors and crisis intervention teams promoting professional development and service excellence.
- Collaborateswith
- Senior leadership and other directors to ensure optimal treatment coordination across divisions/programs for members served
- the Medical Director and Director of Nursing (DON) tointegrateevidencebased treatment protocols ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with best practice standards.
- ManagestheAdult Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS)program which provides secure structured crisis stabilization and treatment as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.
Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) Program Development:
- Leadsthe development and ongoing operations of the CBHC which serves as an entry point for clients to receive mental health and substance use treatment including routine appointments urgent care and 24/7 communitybased crisis intervention.
- Implementsservices that provide sameday access to intake assessment urgent crisis treatment (including medications) and dropin treatment for individuals of all ages.
- Coordinatestelehealth services and ensures flexible service delivery across various locations (e.g. home school) to meet client needs.
- Developspeer support programs andfacilitatescare coordination for individuals including those involved with the justice system or in the care of the Commonwealth.
- Ensuresthe availability of comprehensive services for children families and older adults providing evidencebased and evidenceinformed treatment models.
Program Management and Development:
- Managesthe operations of the Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention (AMCI) and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) programs ensuring that they deliver timely crisis assessment and stabilization to individuals at risk of harm.
- Directsthe Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) program ensuring that clients receive personalized care management psychiatric evaluations peer support and access to community resources.
- Collaborateswith local law enforcement tocoordinateinterventions for individuals in crisis promoting effective compassionate care and reducing the reliance on police intervention.
- Monitorsprogram performance metrics including staff utilization client outcomes and budget adherence ensuring that the division meets its service delivery goals.
Strategic Collaboration and Community Engagement:
- Buildsandmaintainspartnerships with internal departments community agencies schools and law enforcement (including police coresponse staff) tocoordinateservices and expand outreach.
- Representsthe organization at community forums task forces and collaborative meetings to promote mental health awareness and support community health initiatives.
- Facilitatesthe integration of CBHC services with broader communitybased programs ensuring that individuals with complex behavioral health needs receive coordinated care.
Quality Improvement and Compliance:
- Ensurescompliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for all programs within the division conducting regular audits chart reviews and staff evaluations.
- Leadsquality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery patient safety and staff development.
- Identifiesandaddressesstaff training needs organizing ongoing professional development to meet the demands of the CBHC AMCI YMCI and CCS programs.
- Overseesserious incident reviews state agency notification of serious incidents and resolves client complaints in line with organizational policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervisesclinical and administrative staff within the Acute Services division including direct oversight of the CBHC AMCI YMCI and CCS teams.
- Delegatestasks and responsibilities to ensure that daytoday operations run smoothly and in alignment with strategic goals.
- Conductsannual staff evaluations and quarterly performance reviews ensuring staff meet program standards and organizational expectations.
- Reviews ongoing use of overtime and other expenditures to ensure adequate staff coverage and develops action plans with executive leadership to reduce costs and stay within the fiscal year budget
- Recruits needed staff across MCI/CCS/Core CBHC by coordinating efforts with Human Resources and Marketing Department
Qualifications:
- MastersorPhDin Social Work Psychology Counseling or a related field.
- Independent License(LICSW LMHC PhD) required.
- Minimum offive yearsof supervisory experience in community mental health services with a focus on crisis intervention program management and integrated care.
- Provenexperience in managing complex multidisciplinary teams and developing clientcentered programs.
Skills:
- Strongleadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and collaborate across departments.
- Expertisein crisis intervention communitybased mental health services and substance use treatment.
- Proficiencyin program development budgeting and strategic resource allocation.
- Indepthknowledge of community health resources and regulatory compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily officebased with the flexibility to travel to various community locations as needed.
- Participation in the agencys oncall rotation is required to support program needs.
