As our Manager Security and Switchboard Operations you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients customers and patients.

What youll be doing:

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to security and switchboard staff
  • Manage scheduling for 24/7 security and switchboard coverage and ensure required drivers and security licenses are current at all times
  • Lead investigations of critical incidences and unusual occurrences review related reports and escalate as appropriate
  • Apply your knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA) Trespass to Property Act (TPA) Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA) and any other related legislation in order to provide effective training and coaching and support the safety and wellbeing of our patients clients visitors and staff
  • Respond to organizational growth and change as they impact your area of accountability with forwardthinking and long term planning in terms of resources budgets training requirements risks obstacles etc.
  • Guide the department to meet goals and objectives related to service delivery excellence
  • Participate in Hospital committees such as Joint Health & Safety Committee Emergency Code Review Team Infection Prevention and Control Green Team and Outbreak Management
  • Administer the Parking Policy
  • Prepare and present quarterly reports for Quality Management Forum
  • Act as fire prevention and fire safety authority
  • Establish and manage departmental labour and supply budgets
  • Maintain a positive relationship with union respond to First Step Grievances and address issues before they become grievances whenever possibly

What were looking for:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field
  • 5 years experience in managing security and other operations of a health care (preferred) or commercial facility
  • Law & Security fire safety and/or risk management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing in a unionized environment is required
  • A current Security License or the ability to obtain one is required
  • Working knowledge of WSIB
  • Knowledge and strong understanding of the Health and Safety Act PSISA MHA etc. and application in the workplace
  • Collaborative approach with strong organizational multitasking and communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement business processes and create efficiencies
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to improve processes and general service operations
