Description:
The Incident Response Manager will be responsible for overseeing the incident management component of the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution as part of the FCCs Cybersecurity Pilot Program. This role will ensure timely detection escalation analysis and resolution of all DLP-related incidents affecting the Baltimore City Public Schools network endpoints and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of automated alerts and notifications for DLP policy violations.
- Design document and maintain incident response workflows and escalation protocols.
- Manage end-to-end incident case management ensuring proper classification analysis resolution and reporting.
- Coordinate across teams (SOC Security Engineers Compliance) to contain and remediate data loss or policy violations.
- Provide detailed reporting and analytics to meet compliance with FERPA COPPA HIPAA and E-Rate program rules.
- Interface with the City Schools Project Monitor and provide incident updates metrics and response outcomes.
- Ensure DLP tools are integrated with SIEM firewalls endpoint protection and case management systems.
- Lead post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement process improvements.
- Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats and adjust incident response strategies accordingly.
- Support internal audits and 10-year data retention requirements per FCC and USAC guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity Information Systems or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in incident response and cybersecurity operations.
- Proven experience managing security incidents in large-scale multi-platform environments.
- Familiarity with DLP solutions SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk QRadar) and SOAR platforms.
- Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks (FERPA COPPA HIPAA NIST).
- Strong leadership communication and crisis management skills.
