Job Description
NS2 Mission is seeking a highly motivated Java Software Developer to join our dynamic team in Chantilly VA. Be part of a group of dedicated professionals supporting the Intelligence Community focusing on space protection and national security. Position Summary:
As a Full Stack Developer you will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle including technical exchange meetings design coding testing debugging configuration management and production support. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of Javabased applications that support critical missions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design develop and deploy frontend and backend solutions.
- Participate in agile scrum team activities including sprint planning standups and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and whitepapers.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting to resolve system issues.
- Apply best practices in configuration management and code versioning.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
- 13 years of experience in JavaScript and web development.
- 15 years of experience in Java development.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies such as Angular Jasmine HTML5 CSS/SCSS JavaScript and jQuery.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Node.js and NPM.
- Security certification.
- Understanding of geospatial concepts.
- Strong background in mathematics science or aerospace.
- Familiarity with Agile development processes.
- Experience with system monitoring technologies like Munin Nagios or Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana and Beats).
- Proficiency in tools like Jira and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
- Experience with Java development tools (VS Code Eclipse IDE Maven).
- Knowledge of relational database fundamentals.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
