Job Description

Seeking Lodging & Event Manager for The Guest House Properties.


Come join our team in the Guest House Properties in the beautiful historic district of Hinton WV. The properties include guest houses office space conference and event spaces and a cabin. We strive for excellence for our customers and want a motivated leader to deliver a quality and excellent guest experience.


Oversee lodging accommodations and event operations in the heart of Hintons National Historic District. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless guest experiences from checkin to departure as well as the managing planning and of various events.


Duties may include but are not limited to:


  • Guest Services
    • Answer inquiries pertaining to lodging/event policies and services resolve guest complaints and show accommodations when needed.
    • Receive and process advance registration payments send confirmation communications and process refunds as necessary.
    • Address escalated guest issues; handle lodging discounts and/or refunds for customer resolutions.
    • Oversee booking strategies for event spaces; meet with potential guests integrate lodging as necessary and oversee and approve all contracts for event spaces.
  • Staff Management
    • Interview hire and coordinate with supervisor to train staff.
    • Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operation and adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate frontoffice activities of lodging and conference facilities and resolve problems.
  • Administrative & Financial
    • Participate in financial activities such as monitoring the revenue activity of the facilities establishing budgets and payment collection and recordkeeping.
    • Purchase supplies and arrange for outside services such as deliveries laundry maintenance and repair and trash collection.
    • Develop implement and maintain policies and procedures of operations and prepare required paperwork pertaining to department functions.
    • Oversee and manage property management systems for bookings guest communications and financial reporting.
    • Confer and cooperate with other managers to ensure coordination of lodging/event activities.
    • Maintain and manage listings on OTA platforms update property descriptions and photos.
  • Marketing
    • Create and manage seasonal offers and promotional campaigns.
    • Coordinate with marketing to perform advertising marketing and PR campaigns and to maintain website and social media platforms uptodate according to brand standards.

Qualified applicants should be able to:


  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications
  • Have experience using email calendar scheduling MS Office Suite (Excel Outlook Word)
  • Use mapping tools such as Google Maps and provide directions to guests
  • Knowledge and experience with facility management software preferably ThinkReservations and Lynx
  • Use of social media and website platforms preferably HootSuite Facebook Instagram TikTok and Wix
  • Professional demeanor with experience leading a team and ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external leaders
  • Passion and knowledge of the Hinton National Historic District and the surrounding area
