Job Description
Overview
The Software Engineer is responsible for Software development maintenance monitoring problem resolution of development solutions with or within .NET Relativity or other tools that relate to eDiscovery applications databases and workflows. This role participates in Information Technology projects from inception of the project through the maintenance phase. The role involves a teamwork approach and close coordination with other departments across all levels of the organization to define and translate requirements into sound technical solutions and execute to deliver high quality development solutions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of moderate to highly complex software solutions (including data infrastructure reporting and applications) that address the informational and analytical needs of the various groups.
- Responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle which include requirements gathering solution design application development and system testing.
- Analyze end user data need and develop useroriented solutions which interface with existing applications.
- Maintain documentation for all work processes and procedures.
- Make improvement suggestions and adhere to all approved work changes for the team.
- Interact and partner effectively across all appropriate internal business teams.
- Provide backup support for all work and project efforts as needed.
- Assist with team planning and growth strategy.
- Ensure of all industry InfoSec specific compliance matters within the team.
- Participate in major upgrades to Platform software.
- Participate or training on business functionality for system end users.
- Test operation of completed programs debug as needed.
- Develop functional unit testing around developed applications for testing automation.
Additional Responsibilities/Details:
- Acts as a technical liaison to other departments and may be responsible for providing application/programming support to the organizations Case/Client efforts using technology and critical thinking.
- Responsible for customization of Relativity and development & maintenance of custom modules in Relativity platform.
- Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions escalating to Manager when necessary and updating Manager on a regular basis.
- Adaptable and able to learn quickly and demonstrate a big picture approach when managing projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or comparable business/technical experience.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience of application development experience which includes: programming data management collection modeling and interpretation across complex data sets.
- Full stack experience using Visual Studio and C# .NET writing both client and serverside applications.
- Experience with shell scripting and 3rd party APIs to develop custom applications.
- Demonstrated ability to write TSQL queries and knowledge of relational database principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems and recommend the best solution to the business and project team.
- Demonstrated advanced analytical troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrated mastery of test strategies test plans and test .
- Experience with Microsoft Windows server infrastructure.
Other Requirements:
- At least 3 years of Relativity Custom Application development or related eDiscvovery development or scripting experience
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- EDiscovery or Legal Industry
- UI dev using Angular / Angular 2 framework
- .NET MVC
- .NET Core
- NUIX Platforms
- Microsoft SSIS
- Creation of web APIs
- Nonrelational databases
- Must be able to work a flexible shift to be available during US hours for meetings code reviews and grooming meetings.
