About the role:
The Parliamentary Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Member of Parliament (MP) by managing various responsibilities in parliamentary procedures casework research and communications. This role requires a strong understanding of parliamentary operations and political sensitivities to advise the MP effectively.
Primary responsibilities:
As the Parliamentary Assistant you will provide support in research speech preparation and writing reports and interventions. In addition you assist in developing private Members bills reviewing draft reports and arranging press conference events tours and outreach activities.
Within this role you will also collaborate with peers and clients by welcoming visitors and coordinating gallery and question period passes. To be successful you will also be required to monitor riding media social media and news items ensuring relevant colleagues and the Member is informed.
