Job Description

Construction Project Intern Position Description
The Construction Project Intern will work closely with the project management team to support overall project planning scheduling resource allocation and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role offers exposure to various aspects of construction management providing handson experience in Project Planning Cost Management Quality Assurance Contract Administration and Safety Management.

Job Responsibilities includes (but may not be limited to):
  • Assist in creating maintaining and managing project documentation (e.g. subcontracts RFIs submittals).
  • Support the development and updates of master project schedules including reviewing lookahead schedules with superintendents.
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to field supervisors ensuring smooth of onsite activities.
  • Assist with permit applications and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Review and verify submittals for accuracy adherence to project specifications coordination across trades and constructability.
  • Proactively identify potential issues by managing and anticipating project needs two weeks ahead facilitating solutions to avoid delays.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract terms legal requirements and community regulations where the project is located.
  • Administer clientspecific programs such as Landlord/Site Rules Safety and Security protocols.
  • Assist in managing changes to project scope ensuring document control processes prevent rework due to outdated information.
  • Oversee punch list items and project closeout to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Coordinate schedules and efforts with internal work groups vendors and client departments (e.g. IT security).
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support overall project and company objectives.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a 4year degree program in Engineering Construction Management Architecture or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of construction methods and techniques particularly in commercial and institutional building projects including associated site work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) Adobe and other relevant software for project documentation. Familiarity with Primavera P6 Timberline Prolog Procore or similar tools is advantageous.

The Construction Project Intern will earn between $20 and $25 per hour depending on experience and educational level.
