Job Description
Key responsibilities associated with this position include but may not be limited to.
- Cuts lawn using hand power or riding mower; trims and edges around walks flower beds walls etc.
- Plants grass flowers trees and shrubs; prunes shrubs and various trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools.
- Sprays lawns trees and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides.
- May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in ground maintenance.
- May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when ground keeping work has been completed.
- Drives vehicles required to perform or travel to grounds maintenance work including vans or industrial trucks.
- Employees will be required to work outdoors working during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions.Employees may be required to work where they may be regularly exposed to fumes dust and odors.
- Some high noise levels from operations of equipment rooms/areas
- Must be physically able to complete necessary tasks as related to grounds maintenance work and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in Grounds Maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and landscaping
- A valid drivers license is required.
- Must pass both a detailed background check and a preemployment drug screening prior to hire.
- $17.95 per hour base pay
- PLUS Health and Welfare of $4.93 per hour (up to 40 hours per week to be used for benefits)
