The Opportunity:
The Mental Health Professional is a strategic member of the Northcentral Health Care Crisis Services team and works in partnership with the Marathon County Jail treatment team. This position supports clients in jail with recommendations on care and followup. This may include conducting needs assessments case planning advocacy and development of resources and providing immediate mental health interventions.
This is a fulltime position located primarily at the Marathon County Jail. The pay range for this role is $35.95 $39.14 based on education and licensure.

What Youll Do:
- Provides consultation and resources for challenging behaviors associated with a mental health condition
- Screens identified jail inmates and those requesting evaluations to determine referrals to internal medical professionals for mental health services medication evaluation and treatment
- Provide ongoing support for mental health concerns by working with individuals to assist in developing and maintaining coping skills
- Works to achieve involvement and participation of the client in resolving problems and promoting recovery
- Attending NCHC rounds for jail clients on the NCHC adult behavioral health unit
- Makes appropriate and timely referrals to other agencies based on patient need and services required
- Maintains a complete record for all assigned clients; completes required written assessments reports and other related paperwork/documentation as necessary
- Performs ongoing assessment of client for risk of harm to self or others including and determining level of care when necessary
- Conducts mental health evaluations and assessments including gathering information regarding symptoms current and previous psychiatric medications previous treatment or therapy history etc.
- Maintains regular onsite attendance
What You Bring:
Required Licensure (Must possess at least one):
- Current Wisconsin Certified Advanced Practice or Independent Social Worker
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or APSW)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Professional Counselor or In Training (LPC or LPCIT)
- In training licenses will also be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three to five years social work or counseling experience
- Current Wisconsin clinical license or intraining license or certification
- Current Wisconsin Substance Abuse Counselor or Substance Abuse Counselor InTraining certification
