Job Description
The lab of Dr. Eric Stallknecht is looking for a motivated field and laboratory aid. This is an offcampus position at the Hampton Roads Research and Extension Center 1444 Dimond Springs Rd Virginia Beach VA 23455. The laboratory desires an individual looking to gain knowledge about greenhouse production and experience working in a research laboratory. The selected individual will work on two main research projects 1 evaluating crops under photoselective shade materials and 2 the evaluation of hydroponically grown greenhouse lettuce. Successful field and laboratory aides are highly selfmotivated and capable of working independently. Additional information about the position can be found below. Past experience in horticulture greenhouses or agriculture is desirable but not required.
Required Qualifications
Successful field and laboratory aides are highly selfmotivated and capable of working independently. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and Excel ability to work in greenhouse regardless of weather ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Past experience in horticulture greenhouses or agriculture and laboratories is desirable but not required.
