Position Overview

The Lab Manager oversees daytoday test laboratory operations ensuring laboratory safety managing laboratory equipment conducting quality control and overseeing operations management. The Lab Manager oversees lab engineers technicians and operators. They ensure accurate MILSTD testing of microelectronics and semiconductor components and assemblies to customer requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards of our testing services and supporting customers. The Lab Manager will meet regularly with senior management to address lab operations enact operational improvements and resolve issues to meet test schedules and work order requirements.

Due to US Export control laws must be a US Citizen Permanent Resident or have protected status.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational lab team ensuring adherence to procedures safety and optimization
  • Communicate key processes objectives schedules and requirements to the lab team
  • Provide training and mentoring to ensure understanding and proficiency in lab tasks providing constructive feedback when improvement is required
  • Manage lab workload to ensure work orders are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
  • Oversee changes to accommodate fluctuating workloads
  • Ensure lab operations and systems meet and follow industry and quality requirements
  • Contribute to and maintain quality requirements in lab operations including documented procedures and SOPs
  • Ensure lab operations adhere to accurate and reliable work order data and test result reporting and process documentation
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the lab team around work methods equipment operation and test techniques
  • Ensure all lab staff are aware of health and safety hazards and practices within the work area
  • Supervise lab staff on shift
  • Uphold health and safety standards including wearing of PPE hazard identification and hazard minimization
  • Oversee work area environmental compliance including ESD and FOD control
Requirements
  • 57 years of experience in laboratory operations or manufacturing with 23 years of management experience
  • Bachelors degree (BS) in related field or 35 years of relatable work experience
  • Experience managing and leading a laboratory team
  • Proficiency in laboratory safety skills equipment and operations
  • Proficiency in quality control operations
  • Operational management skills
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with MILSTD testing and operational requirements
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (AS9100 ISO9001)
  • Selfmotivated and demonstrated experience enacting continuous improvements
  • Ability to make sound informed decisions quickly and take ownership of decisions and outcomes
