Make a Difference

Oversees Community Health Network Radiation Therapy programs and services within the Community HealthNorth Cancer Center. Is responsible for hiring and managing assigned staff development of programs quantitative and qualitative standards of care policies education of staff budgeting and financial accountability. Also evaluates plans and provides treatment for patients as appropriate.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problemsolving.

  • 2 year / Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program; ARRT certification. (Required)
  • 4year / Bachelors Degree : Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program; ARRT certification; if candidate does not have 10 years radiation therapy experience at time of hire (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements a combination of experience and education will be considered..
  • CertIfications/Licensures: (Certified Radiation Therapy (T)(ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
  • 5 years: Minimum of five 5 years experience as a RTT and one 1 years experience as a supervisor. (Required)
          • Radiation Therapy Accountabilities: Plans assigns and directs workflow and staffing needs to ensure optimal patient care delivery. Handles administrative duties for assigned areas including but not limited to timecards performance evaluations orientation performance management and workload. Administers program development and planning. Coordinates inservice program and oversees education responsibilities. Manages staff recruitment hiring and retention. Routinely audits the accuracy efficiency and compliance of therapist staff in their delivery of patient care. Serves as a liaison between members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Serves as resource as well as primary communicator for/to radiation oncologist. Serves as liaison between medical and radiation oncology services. Serves as liaison between departments and other Network departments. Accurately delivers and records simulation and radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncology in case of emergency. Supervises departmental medical records activity. Supervises the ordering of all departmental supplies. Serves as clinical advisory for schools of radiation therapy or designates as appropriate. Able to operate assessment and treatment equipment.
          • Multidisciplinary team: Works with multidisciplinary team to ensure that treatment rooms and equipment are prepared for therapies; ensures that safety check lists are complete; contacts appropriate support services for repairs and maintenance keeping the physic and nursing staff informed and involved. Works to ensure that work environment is safe and meets regulatory and customer service standards.
          • Patient Accounts: Works with Patient Accounts to ensure efficient and effective patient registration and billing.
          • Quality Assurance: Serves on QA committee complies and maintains QA stats. Designs and implements quality assurance activities.
