Job Description

Associate Producer (ENN)

Location: Washington DC

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:

The Associate Producer will work with the entire EWTN News Nightly editorial team to produce content with a strict deadline for a daily newscast. This role will also collaborate and support the production of all shows across EWTN News as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Contribute to a lively fastpaced newscast that includes writing news packages voiceovers teases and discussion segments; assists in writing scripts for newscasts and TV news brief.
  • Pitch story and guest ideas to the editorial team; assist with booking guests and coordinating all necessary details.
  • Watch EWTN Noticias daily broadcasts and prepare/transcribe packages to be included in the EWTN News Nightly broadcasts.
  • Assist in the producing of Rome/Vatican content.
  • Work with editors to facilitate production; communicate with production crew about executing the newscast.
  • Watch and log video and sound for various events; review and pull video for stories (packages VOs and discussions) and monitor AP wires.
  • Visualize and order graphics.
  • Attend instudio tapings and provide support managing graphics audio teleprompter and tape.
  • Assist on other EWTN News programs produced out of the Washington DC Studios as needed.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a minimum of 23 years experience in TV broadcast news producing newscasts in medium or large markets.
  • You are a practicing Catholic with demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the faith and EWTNs mission including how it relates to stories being covered.
  • You have excellent broadcast writing skills; prior experience utilizing broadcast software programs such as iNews AP ENPS etc.
  • You possess solid news judgement and a meticulous level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You are able to visually and creatively tell a story and engage viewers using graphics and other elements.
  • You consistently demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff vendors and show guests.
  • Your collaborative nature allows you to work successfully in a team environment independently and with remote teammates.
  • You are able to work a flexible schedule including weekends/nights when required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You are proficient in one or more languages in addition to English; Italian and/or Spanish skills are strongly preferred.
