Primary Purpose:
Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations.
Coordinate assigned student activities services.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors Degree from accredited University
- Masters Degree from accredited University
- Texas Principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
- Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (TTESS)
Education/Certification:
- Minimum of three years experience as a classroom teacher.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Thorough understanding of school operations
- Strong background in effective instructional strategies
- Strong organizational communication public relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate campus support operations
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participates in development and evaluation of educational programs.
- Encourages and supports development of innovative instructional programs helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
- Promotes the use of technology in the teaching/learning process.
- Promotes a positive caring climate for learning.
- Deals sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Communicates effectively with students and staff.
- Participates in development of campus improvement plans with staff parents and community members.
- Helps principal develop maintain and use information systems to maintain and track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
- Observes employee performance records observations and conducts evaluation conferences.
- Provide instructional feedback to teachers based on classroom observations and walkthroughs.
- Assists principal in interviewing selecting and orienting new staff.
- Supervises operations in principals absence.
- Helps plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules teacher assignments and extracurricular activity schedules.
- Supervises reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance clerk on followup investigations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of campus safety nets.
- Works with department heads/team leaders and staff to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.
- Requisitions supplies textbooks and equipment; checks inventory; maintains records; and verifies receipts for materials.
- Assists with safety inspections and safetydrill practice activities.
- Coordinates transportation custodial child nutrition and other support services.
- Complies with Federal and State laws State Board of Education rule and board policy.
- Ensures that students are adequately supervised during noninstructional periods.
- Helps to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Ensures that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
- Conducts conferences on student and school issues with parents students and staff.
- Participates in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
- Articulates the schools mission to community and solicits its support in realizing the mission.
- Demonstrates awareness of schoolcommunity needs and initiates activities to meet those needs.
- Uses appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
