Professional Development Technician

Purpose Statement
The Professional Development Technicians purposes are technical clerical analytical and interpersonal. Maintaining and updating the Professional Learning database includes assisting district personnel with enrolling in courses; providing personnel information about courses and their transcripts; providing support to the Director of Professional Development; creating and explaining data reports for vested departments; providing exceptional customer service; and monitoring substitute usage that is paid by Title IIA funds.
This job reports to the Professional Development Director.

SKILLS Skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: selfstarting motivation; organizational strategies; ability to problem solve; operating standard office equipment including software; preparing and maintaining accurate manual and electronic records; providing excellent customer service; business telephone etiquette screening telephone calls taking and delivering messages; using pertinent software applications especially Google Docs Sheets Forms Calendar and Email.
KNOWLEDGE Knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: basic math calculations using fractions decimals percents and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; office practices and etiquette; codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies; recordkeeping and record retention practices.
ABILITY Ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: maintaining confidentiality; working as part of a team with flexibility to focus on unexpected needs; working with detailed information; working with frequent interruptions; setting priorities; adapting to changing priorities; communicating and working with diverse groups of individuals; working under minimal supervision; working within time constraints; ability to read write and communicate clearly in English.
RESPONSIBILITY Responsibilities include: ability to work under limited supervision; follow standardized practices and/or methods; lead guide and/or coordinate others; occasionally utilize resources from other work units to perform the jobs functions; schedule activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify a variety of data; problem solve using data. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 85 sitting 10 walking and 5 standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Intermediate experience level working in Google Docs Sheets Forms Calendar and Email.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
