The Manitoba Mtis Federation(MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Mtisalso known as the Manitoba Mtis. The Red River Mtis are a distinct IndigenousNation and People and Canadas Negotiating Partners in Confederation and theFounders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill multiplefulltime Early Childhood Educator IIIpositions within our Child CareCentres in the following locations: Winnipeg St. Laurent St. Eustache SwanRiver and Dauphin. The Early Childhood Educators primary responsibility is thecare and education of children as well as assisting in delivering Red River Mtisspecificprogramming and curriculum.
Job Duties/Competencies:
Maintaina learning environment that is positive relaxed pleasant nurturing andsupports Red River Mtis specific curriculum;
Establish and maintain a safe and healthylearning environment;
Develop opportunities for children to becomestewards of the local environment;
Support childrens attempts to resolve theirproblems and differences with others;
Encourage children to express their feelingsand assert their rights in socially acceptable ways;
Respond to incidents and handle emergenciesappropriately if they occur;
Maintain program equipment and assist in lighthousekeeping and cooking duties;
Attend monthly staff meetings to discuss theprogress and challenges of children and centre and other discussions asnecessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
ECE III Diploma or other recognized training byMB ELCC;
Minimum of two years experience as an EarlyChildhood Educator or relevant role with demonstrated ability to deliverprograms and services;
Experience working with children withadditional support needs;
Knowledge and ability to implement effectivepositive guidance techniques using the Circle of Security Approach;
Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certification;
Circle of Security Certificate an asset;
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check Criminal Record Checkand Child Abuse Registry Check;
Knowledge of Red River Mtis culture heritageand language an asset; and
Ability to travel valid Manitoba Driverslicense with access to a reliable vehicle.
