Job Description
The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a second 12month assistant professor position on either the clinical or tenure track. The program is wellestablished with a long standing history of continuous accreditation and successful student outcomes. The curriculum is learnercentered with casebased independent and group learning facilitated by the faculty through Socratic discussions problemsolving and integrated classroom and clinical experiences. Team teaching is frequently utilized and students have opportunities for integrated clinical experiences in surrounding clinical venues as part of classroom preparation. We are seeking individuals who wish to join a dedicated faculty who are committed to teaching in an innovative entry level DPT Program. Applicants with scholarly and teaching expertise in cardiopulmonary or pediatrics are strongly encouraged to apply. Expertise in professionalism administrative issues health policy and wellness will also be considered. All qualified candidates are welcome to submit applications for consideration. Teaching responsibilities will be dependent on content expertise along with expertise of current faculty. Faculty will participate in integrated classroom and group learning experiences as well. Other responsibilities include engaging in scholarly activity student advisement supervision of student capstone projects and service. Qualifications include possessing a degree in Physical Therapy with an academic doctorate (Ph.D. Ed.D. etc. or ABD preferred. We will consider a DPT with ABPTS Board certification or other advanced certification. In addition the candidate should hold or be eligible for Louisiana licensure and have a minimum of three to five years of clinical experience. Prior teaching experience and history of involvement in scholarly activities is desirable.
