Job Description
Teacher/Intervention Specialist
Westlake location
The Achievement Centers for Children is a Cleveland Ohio based nonprofit organization that is nationally recognized for its excellence in helping children with disabilities and their families achieve and thrive.
We are currently seeking a Teacher/Intervention Specialist who would like to join our innovative K12 school for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position will be hired through the ESC and will work at ACC as a part of an interdisciplinary team in a full day 8:00 am 4:00 pm) program.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the classroom team and providing direct instruction to students
- Developing and implementing prescribed behavior plans
- Assisting with personal hygiene routines as needed
- Following students IEP goals when substituting in the classrooms
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Special Education
- Current Ohio Intervention Specialist license K12 moderateintensive (preferred).
- Two or more years of experience teaching in a classroom setting with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Good interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
- Training and experience in 2 or more of the methodologies incorporated in the Autism School Model TEACCH ABA/Discrete Trial PECS Social Skills groups Functional Behavior Assessments) preferred.
