Falk College seeks a parttime instructor to teach FST 422 M003 Wine and Beer Appreciation 3 credits) in the Spring 2025 01/06/2505/06/25 semester. Course Description: Ingredients processes and laws. Sensory evaluation and discussion of still and sparkling wines and beers. Class meets Thursdays 3:30 PM to 6:15 PM EST .
Responsibilities
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Preparation of lectures projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed midsemester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
Qualifications
Applicants must have industry experience and academic knowledge of wine and beer. Historical context and processing knowledge a must. A minimum of a bachelors degree. Advanced certifications considered. Classroom experience with ability to engage students with lectures and handson tasting experiences. Applicant must be able to facilitate tasting exercises for a classroom of 80 students. Instructors guide the students through the process and give timely and constructive feedback that supports learning and growth. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment with other faculty members and industry professionals in a way that contributes to the quality of the program.
