Seize this exceptional opportunity to be a part of an exciting and rewarding role working with one of Australias oldest and most experienced providers of autismspecific education services!

So what is Early Years Inclusion This team based across the QLD coast are built on a strong group of Occupational Therapists Speech Pathologists and Teachers providing support in early childhood education and care (ECEC) services. Increasing the confidence and capability of early education staff in evidencebased interventions our consultants travel throughout QLD to various care and education settings to support the engagement of autistic children through;

  • Provide support through a variety or combination of approaches including telephone webbased supports coaching training consultancy participation in goal setting and planning professional development direct support to students environmental adjustments case management and/or parent liaison.
  • Provide understanding and experience in the design and implementation of direct (individual and/or group) and consultationbased intervention which is responsive to the individual needs of children their families and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders to facilitate their participation providing support education and inclusion of children with additional needs.
  • Prepare and maintain progress notes data and records of assessment observation reports and meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and development of the Inclusion Consultant service delivery model.
  • Promote and disseminate information about the Inclusion Consultant model through stakeholder meetings conference presentations education forums and internally within Autism Queensland.
  • Manage ongoing communication with the ECEC service or school regarding service delivery as required.
  • Contribution to the development of an online resource hub.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current theories and best practice regarding support of autistic children particularly in early years settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in early years settings (ECECs early years schools) to support the participation of autistic children and additional needs and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consultative support and coaching for early childhood professionals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and Early Years in the Australian Curriculum specifically innovative curriculum practices for children requiring differentiated teaching assessment and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to build stakeholder relationships.
  • High level understanding of policy and legislation relevant to the education of autistic children and additional needs early childhood settings
  • Proven highly effective interpersonal skills necessary for external stakeholder relationships.

Please note a tertiary degree in Teaching Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy (and membership/registration with the relevant professional body AHPRA SPA etc. is a requirement of this role.
