The Compliance and Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting the organizations compliance efforts through effective documentation oversight and credentialing coordination. This role ensures documentation is current organized and aligned with regulatory and billing standards while also contributing to audit readiness and internal review processes. The Specialist works closely with the Director of Compliance to maintain consistent auditready documentation practices across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the accurate and timely completion of 90day documentation reviews.
Perform annual client documentation reviews and updates to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
Perform monthly checks to verify that medic credentials are active and up to date in compliance with regulatory and billing requirements.
Maintain an organized and uptodate credentialing record system.
Review documentation for accuracy consistency and completeness in line with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and stay informed of regulatory and industry changes related to documentation billing and credentialing.
Identify and resolve compliance gaps through timely updates and improvements.
Assist in developing and refining compliancerelated documentation policies and procedures based on regulatory updates or audit findings.
Conduct internal documentation audits to ensure all records meet audit and regulatory expectations.
Collaborate on client audits and credentialing processes with the Director of Compliance.
Communicate documentation needs and auditrelated updates to the Director of Compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an associates degree in healthcare administration business administration or a related field required.
CACO and/or CADS certifications preferred or the ability to earn them within one year of hire.
At least 1 year of experience in healthcare administration compliance billing or a related field with a preference for experience in ambulance billing and compliance.
At least 2 years of experience in audit preparation and documentation management required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of ambulance billing and compliance standards
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as billing systems and credentialing platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with frequent deadlines and shifting priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily performed on a computer requiring long periods of sitting or standing at a workstation.
WORK LOCATION AND SCHEDULE
This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite in Terrell TX and two days remote each week.
