Job Description
Metro Staffing Solutions is seeking a ROCK STARDistribution Shift Supervisorin Grand Prairie TX. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity.
TheDistribution Shift Supervisoris responsible for assisting the Distribution Manager in the management of operations through the effective utilization of distribution team members and equipment. This position will supervise and direct team members in the Managers absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively manage daily loading and receiving of product. Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) and other written procedures are followed.
- Assist Manager in controlling labor cost through effective planning scheduling and onthejob training. Monitor productivity standards by analyzing metrics surrounding key performance indicators. Recommend/implement ways to improve performance.
- Monitor daily weekly and monthly sanitation tasks to ensure the sanitation schedule is followed.
- Supervise distribution team hold regularly scheduled team meetings and assist with timely performance reviews to ensure efficiency and productivity of team.
- Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.
- Maintain an organized efficient and sanitary warehouse and loading dock area to exceed quality standards
- Perform duties of Distribution Manager in his/her absence.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Sanitation and HACCP policies & procedures federal state and local regulations (OSHA FDA DOL) and all other policies & procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Ingredients:
- 5 years of management experience in a fastpaced warehouse/distribution environment;
- HS diploma required. College degree preferred;
- Ability to effectively communicate and give direction verbally and in writing in English required;
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and manual/electric pallet jack;
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced dynamic work environment;
- Basic MS office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint) required;
- WMS or similar warehouse management system experience a plus;
- Occasional travel required;
- Position requires 24/7 oncall availability.
Functional Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate and give direction verbally and in writing in English required.
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and manual/electric pallet jacks.
- Microsoft Office experience preferred (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- PeopleSoft and Kronos application experience preferred.
Education Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College education or business management development preferred.
- Minimum two 2 years progressive supervisory experience in a fastpaced warehouse environment required.
Additional Information
- Occasional travel required.
- Must be able to be on call 24/7.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the team member is required to use hands repetitively stand walk graspfirmly/strongly and/or simply/lightly with hands and use fine finger dexterity. The team member is frequently required to bend over twist reach above shoulder level crouch or stoop kneel repetitively use feet and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down and lift and/or move up to 60 plus pounds. Occasionally the teammember is required to sit climb balance push and/or pull and lift and/or move over 61 pounds.
