Job Description
Introduction
Our client a leading company in the telecommunications sector is looking for a Network Technology Manager based in Johannesburg.
As a Network Technology Manager you will lead a team responsible for designing implementing and optimising network transmission systems to ensure efficient and reliable data transmission. You will play a pivotal role in managing the endtoend build process from conceptualisation to executions while fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to a team of network transmission architects
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes creativity accountability and professional growth
- Allocate resources effectively manage workloads and prioritise tasks to ensure timely project delivery
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including PMOO operations procurement and finance to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance network reliability and resilience
- Continuously monitor network performance
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelors Degree
- Proven experience 8 years) in network transmission engineering with a focus on design implementation and optimisation
- Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Indepth knowledge of network transmission technologies protocols and standards such as DWDM SDH Etherneet and MPLS
- Experience with network performance monitoring and analysis tools as well as capacity planning methodologies
- Experience with managing and building relationships with vendors and contractors
