KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Selects plans for and supervises the training of local Emergency Preparedness organizations in subjects such as radiation detection rescue and emergency medical services;
Reviews the quality and adequacy of training programs periodically to improve their effectiveness;
Maintains liaison with other emergency preparedness services and public and private agencies and coordinates the development of their operational procedures and the training of their personnel in emergency preparedness operations to achieve good coverage and effective performance in time of disaster;
Advises the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner on the selection and implementation of training courses.

Salary Range: $ 61309
OPEN COMPETITIVE
Completion of sixty 60 credits from a college with federallyauthorized accreditation or registration by New York State and two 2 years of paid experience in developing and conducting emergency services public safety and/or security training programs one year of which must have been in a public agency.
ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS:
Thorough knowledge of methods and techniques of organizing and conducting public information training courses
Good knowledge of Emergency Preparedness procedures and practices
Ability to develop instructional materials for an effective training program
Ability to promote Emergency Preparedness programs to gain public acceptance
Ability to speak clearly and effectively before an audience
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public officials community leaders and volunteer groups
Ability to compile and maintain statistical and written reports and records
Ability to analyze facts arrive at sound conclusions and make recommendations
Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
