About the position:
The Director of Solutions Engineering in the Public Sector (Fed and SLED) is a technical leadership position for our Enterprise Sales Engineering team. You will have leadership responsibility for the Solutions Engineers across North America covering Federal State Local and Education acting as a working manager leading from the front. You must be an experienced manager with a demonstrable background as a dedicated Technology Executive with broad technology and business background able to demonstrate consistent success in leveraging innovation to achieve revenue and sales growth. You will partner closely with our Enterprise Sales Leaders to increase market share and develop and execute aggressive growth strategies across the Fed and SLED markets. The successful candidate will be focused on customer success and deliver worldclass cloud security solutions. This individual will be a key leader in our growth and market leadership development.
You should also possess a strong reputation for achieving organizational goals and relationship development with key customer contacts.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit hire and onboard new Solutions Engineers into the Public Sector Sales Segment.
- Provide technical and business leadership for the SE organization promoting leadership by example.
- Responsible for onboarding coaching and mentoring new Solutions Engineers on the team managing performance and driving results.
- Support the field SE team in complex evaluations troubleshooting and challenging customer environments.
- Assist Channel team in ensuring Partner SEs are trained and can support Netskope demos POCs and evaluations in the Fed and SLED segment.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers in the segment to solidify reference accounts and to assist the account teams with defining plans to drive more business.
- The ability to lead a team of Solutions Engineers fostering collaboration technical excellence and continuous development.
- Conduct ongoing 1:1s with team members to provide constructive feedback and skills development.
- Work crossfunctionally with support customer success product management engineering and other organizations to ensure alignment with the field provide process and product feedback.
- Provide an escalation point for presales and postsales technical issues that arise in the territory.
- Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an indepth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods techniques and evaluation criteria for projects programs and people.
- Take an active role in your regions customer success and help resolve any customer satisfaction issues escalating crossfunctionally when needed.
Job Requirements:
- 5 years of previous successful Solutions/Sales engineering leadership experience is essential.
- 7 years as a successful individual contributor in Solutions/Sales engineering.
- Must have Public Sector Experience: Familiarity with public sector regulations procurement processes and specific challenges facing government agencies and other public entities. Candidates must have worked with government contracts or in public sector environments.
- Strong experience in the public sector including a deep understanding of the procurement process regulatory compliance (e.g. FedRAMP FISMA) and governmentspecific challenges.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills ranging from tech level up to senior executives. Comfort in public speaking and presenting to both internal and external executive audiences.
- A reputation for unquestionable ethics and integrity.

- Must have resilience and tenacity to be successful in an extremely fastpaced everchanging environment.
- Solid track record in building developing and recruiting highperformance teams based on a large network of talent in the software and systems industry.

- Industry knowledge of security product market trends and directional awareness of Netskopes roadmap and technology development efforts.
- Indepth knowledge of security technologies and products with prior experience selling security technologies including but not limited to: Proxies NG Firewalls SSL/IPSec VPNs SSO DLP and Encryption gateways.
- Knowledge of how to deliver comprehensive security solutions to Netskopes customer base and maintain a general understanding of competitive selling strategies.
- Prior experience growing teams in earlystage startups with limited resources
- Experience working in and selling cloudbased technologies (SaaS IaaS and PaaS)
Travel & Education:
- BS CS/EE preferred or related (or equivalent work experience).
- Travel: 5075 within the region.
