Summary
As a Restaurant Host / Hostess youll be the first impression for our guests setting the tone for their dining experience. Your primary responsibilities include warmly greeting all guests upon arrival ensuring timely and efficient seating and managing the flow of guests to provide an optimal dining experience that meets their preferences.

- Maintain knowledge of floor charts seating numbers Restaurant layout menu ingredients reservation policies and host duties.
- Answer the phone and complete accurate reservations with guests full name and contact number.
- Make a great first impression with posture and appearance always complying with Alderbrook Resort & Spa appearance standards.
- Engage guests in conversation as you seat them and thank them as they depart inviting them to return.
- Assist with clearing and resetting tables within 2 minutes if needed and accurately update the status of available tables.
- Open the door for guests entering or leaving the Restaurant when possible.
- Record guest names and the number of people in the party when immediate seating is limited.
- Provide estimated wait time and call out the name and number of the party when tables become available.
- Seat guests based on their preference accommodating special seating requests whenever possible and balance customer flow in service stations.
- Upon seating offer guests a menu inform them of their servers name and inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness.
- Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed and complete bathroom checks.
- Help bus and set tables complete side work and employ teamwork.

Qualifications
- Desirable 1 years experience as a host/hostess or similar
- Capable of clear written composition strong comprehension and a safetyconscious mindset
- Basic math general computer use and typing
- Intermediate English (reading and writing)
- Advanced spoken English
- Flexible work availability including weekends and holidays required
- Equivalent education skills and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions may be considered
Required Permits & Certifications
- WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
- WA Class 12/13 Alcohol Server Permit (MAST) required within 60 days after hire
Learn As You Go
- Basic knowledge of food regulations (handling sanitation storage) related industry terminology knowledge standards and best practices data entry photocopier/scanner/printer use point of sale (POS) systems caf beverages (making coffee espresso etc. and beer wine and mixology.

Collaboration & Engagement
As a Restaurant Host / Hostess you will work under the direct guidance of the Director of Outlets Outlets Manager and Assistant Outlets Manager. In addition to your home department you may occasionally interface with other teams. You will not oversee other staff and can expect a significant level of interaction with guests and the public.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical Demands. While performing this job employees are regularly required to talk hear stand for extended periods walk sit climb stairs demonstrate hand dexterity reach stoop kneel bend twist push pull or crouch. Occasionally the employee may lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close distance and peripheral vision. The role may also require sustained visual and mental concentration.
