Job Description
PSYCHIATRIST
SITE OF SERVICE:
Webb County Detention Center Laredo Detention Center
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Degree/Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university with an advanced degree in psychology or an appropriate degree in a related clinical area and appropriate certification or license (or meet educational requirements for licensing in the state of employment if greater).
Experience: Five years clinical experience which includes two years in a comparable position
Licensure: Current full active and unrestricted license to practice
U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.
English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read write speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
DUTIES:
The Psychiatrist manages the operation and provides overall direction and leadership for the provision of the mental health services in the facility. This position has the primary responsibility of providing administrative and clinical coordination for the comprehensive mental health care program for the inmates/residents.
The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fastpaced dynamic environment.Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects.Flexible and able to work with various personalities.Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fastpaced demanding environment.
