Network Engineer - Onsite -EveningNight Shift - NYCNJ

We are currently seekinga Network Engineerwith a minimum of3years of handson experience. As a Network Engineer you will be a part of a project. This position is on site in NYC from 4PM 12 AM.

Required Skills

Must have handson experience with:

• • Routing protocols EIGRP OSPF and BGP; configuring troubleshooting typical show commands to research issues.
  • Racking and stacking Ciscoseries switches.
  • Upgrading firmware on Cisco switches.
  • Tools for upgrading firmware on Cisco switches; TFTP and FTP server thumb drive.
  • Configuration of Cisco switches in command line via console and SSH.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst linecards; multigig copper and fiber cards supervisors.
  • Deep understanding of Layer 1 concepts configuration and troubleshooting; typical show commands for verification of copper and fiber link status quality of connection expected transmit and receive light levels interface counter types that indicate connection trouble copper test and show commands to indicate cable short media types.
  • Working knowledge of Power over Ethernet; verification of power being provided to devices PoE power budget on a switch.
  • Deep understanding of Layer 2 concepts configuration and troubleshooting; spanning tree root bridge BPDU designated ports root ports trunk and access ports rapid spanning tree ieee MST VLAN Layer 2 extension CDP LLDP MAC address CAM and TCAM table DHCP snooping.
  • Deep understanding of Layer 3 concepts configuration and troubleshooting; routed ports switched virtual interface ARP table ARP inspection ARP accesscontrol list IPv4 accesscontrol list ping traceroute.
  • Deep understanding of firsthop redundancy protocols; HSRP GLBP VRRP.
  • Deep understanding of IPv4 addressing variable length subnet masks summarization.
  • Fiber plant management; installing fiber patch cords troubleshooting link issues working knowledge of multimode and singlemode fiber cabling.
  • Copper plant management; installing CAT5/5e/6 patch cords 568A/B termination knowledge of straight through crossover rollover cabling usage of a tone generator and tracing copper cabling from Location A to Location Z.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco fiber transceiver types; SFP SFP28 QSFP; and wavelength types; 850nm 1310nm SX LX SR LR LR4 1gig 10gig 25gig 100gig.
  • Working knowledge of network and server racks; Mighty Moe shelves rails cable routing.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution units (PDU); TrippLite Raritan Power APC; and power cord types; twistlock L620 L630 C12 C13 C14.
  • Working knowledge of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units; Schneider Electric Emerson Power APC; replacing batteries connecting units to the network power input and output types; L620 L630.
  • Working knowledge of networked console servers; TrippLite Avocent.
  • Working knowledge DNS and DHCP; What is a host record reverse lookup zone CNAME. What is a static IP address.

handson experience with the following is a plus :

• • Cisco Catalystseries switches.
  • Arista EOSseries switches.
  • Spineleaf architecture.
  • VxLAN concepts; Understanding what VNIs and VTEPs do verification and research of host routes in EVPN tables.
  • Redistribution of routing protocols; EIGRP to BGP.
  • CCNA citification is a plus
