Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Work with GEs Market System team designing and developing components and modules GEs next generation Market System a cloud based solution that hosts multistate wholesale energy markets. Work on a team in a fastpaced agile development environment designing/implementing cloudbased software in a Java development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. Implement User Stories by developing and enhancing sprintbootbased applications following GE Digitals SDLC and Quality guidelines. Troubleshoot debug and fix issues reported in existing software addressing issues as presented and identifying/addressing underlying causes. Engage in technical discussions and design sessions proposing implementations for user stories and features considering scaling/computational complexity maintainability cohesion and harmony with larger system. Apply and promote principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP CI Software and Product Security Scalability Documentation Practices refactoring and Testing Techniques. Solicit and provide peer review feedback on code and design working to increase code quality and developer expertise. Be an expert in core data structures as well as algorithms and be able implement them using language of choice and demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment. Develop unit and automated tests to validate your software as it is developed and be able to access levels of testing required to meet quality goals.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelors Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or STEM (Science Technology Engineering (any) or Math) 6 years of progressively responsible postBachelors degree experience in related software design and development occupation.

The position also requires: 4 years of experience in ObjectOriented analysis AspectOriented programming Software Design Patterns and Java Coding principles. 4 years of experience with all Java SpringBoot and cloud development. 4 years of experience with RDBMS and NoSQL database technologies. 4 years of experience with Unix/Linux OS environment and Shell scripting. Telecommuting is permitted. 100 remote option is also permitted. When not telecommuting must report into offices in Bellevue WA.

Salary for this position is $190486.00/yr

For U.S. based positions only the pay range for this position is $190486.00 to $216660.00 annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience their education and the work location. In addition this position is eligible for 10 variable incentive compensation.
