Job Description

GAI Consultants is seeking a technically diversified Senior Engineering Manager to develop and grow GAIs Transportation and Structural Practice in Florida. GAI has a wellestablished and rapidly growing company with immediate opportunities for industry leaders to grow their careers. Key experience requirements include 15 years of structural design projects for FDOT and other local agencies across the state of Florida. This candidate will be able to perform project planning engineering design project management business development team development budget management quality management and staff recruiting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance to entry to seniorlevel professional engineers EITs and CAD staff.
  • Leading the design and technical direction for bridge transportation projects.
  • Leading the coordination with interfacing disciplines.
  • Maintaining proficiency with engineering software.
  • Maintaining the budget schedule and quality of tasks and being up to speed on regulation changes and agency protocols and requirements.
  • Development of proposals scopes of work staffhour estimates and work plans for engineering portions of work pursuits.
  • Domestic travel for periodic project site visits or client meetings (up to 25 of the time).

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with FDOT Districts Floridas Turnpike and CFX are required. Design Build expertise is a plus.
  • Bachelors (B.S. degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering (M.S. degree preferred).
  • A Professional Engineering license in Florida is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently on projectspecific tasks.
  • Ability to be efficient in planning and organizing workload.
  • Dedicated commitment to performing quality work with a positive attitude and work ethic.

  • Ability to hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain walk across uneven surfaces etc.
  • Ability to hear and visualize potential hazards during fieldwork or site visit situations.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a preemployment drug screening.
