Job Description

CNA Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide assistance with medication reminders bathing grooming dressing escort services and other activities of daily living

  • Follow the resident care schedule set out by the supervisor

  • Provide emotional and social support to residents

  • Support dining staff and assist in the dining room as needed

  • Assist with laundry needs of the community or residents

  • Document daily logs of assistance provided

  • Inform the supervisor of any resident issues or concerns

  • Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of residents

  • Maintain residents confidentiality

  • Stay familiar with emergency equipment and procedures

  • Attend all required training inservice and staff meetings

  • Maintain a safe working environment through accident prevention and equipment preservation

  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents visitors families and coworkers

  • Adhere to all community policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

CNA Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CHHA licensure

  • CPR certification

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check

  • COVID vaccine required or valid exemption

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs regularly and physically assist residents as needed

  • Proficiency in English (reading writing speaking and understanding)

  • Experience with residents with memory impairment may be required if assigned to memory care areas
