THE OPPORTUNITY

The National College of Education of National Louis University (NLU) is pleased to announce its search for an Assistant/Associate Professor of School Psychology and seeks nominations and applications. This is a fulltime renewable Professional Practice track position (nontenure)

The School Psychology Program is a NASPaccredited program in the dynamic Chicago area. The School Psychology Program focuses on preparing school psychologist practitioners in contemporary roles as problem solvers who use direct and indirect researchbased interventions to improve outcomes for all PK12 students.

Essential Responsibilities

The Assistant/Associate Professor will take a leadership role in teaching courses in the School Psychology Program with a focus on courses in academic behavioral social emotional intervention and assessment; advising Ed.S. students; and providing service to the School Psychology profession and the National College of Education. The successful candidate will focus on teaching with field supervision and service requirements included in job responsibilities. Preference will be given to candidates who have graduate education teaching experience together with professional practice experience in PK12 MTSS service delivery academic and behavioral problemsolving consultation and program and intervention evaluation.

We are seeking a teamoriented collaborative colleague with experience either as a school psychology graduate educator or extensive schoolbased experience in delivering highquality contemporary school psychology services in PK12 settings with substantive adjunct teaching experience in school psychology programming.

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in School Psychology or closely related field with priority given to graduates of APA and/or NASPapproved School Psychology programs
  • Candidates must hold a license in School Psychology or be licenseeligible through the Illinois State Board of Education
  • Extensive experience in addressing the academic needs of PK12 students through researchbased practices either as a practitioner or as a graduate educator
  • Demonstrated experience in MTSS service delivery in PK12 settings

Additionally preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Doctoral degree specifically in School Psychology
  • A record of excellent teaching skills at the university leve
  • Experience including strong supervision and mentorship skills to school psychology graduate students
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with eld supervisors across the region
  • Nationally Certified School Psychology (NCSP) status
  • Three or more years of employment in PK12 settings

Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
