Seeking candidates whohave availability to begin teaching on site no later than 4:30 pm during the week; please only apply if you have this availability.

Develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses business community other sites evening and/or weekends.Under the supervision of the Dean MCT Pathway to plan and teach related and shop activities in the welding curriculum to include the areas of layout blueprint reading fabrication oxyfuel welding and cutting shielded metal arc welding gas tungsten arc welding gas metal arc welding fluxcore arc welding with self and gas shielded wires inspection and testing and welding math.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.

Minimum Educational Requirements: MUST have at least ONE of the following to be considered:


Minimum Occupational Experience Requirements:
Must have at least four 4 years 8000 hours) of total work experience in Welding:
  • Oxyfuel welding and cutting
  • Shielded metal arc welding all positions
  • Gun tungsten arc welding of aluminum steel and stainlesssteel material; plasma cutting
  • Fluxcore arc welding with selfshielded and gas shielded wires in any diameters
  • Gas metal arc welding with any diameter solid wire including pulsed arc transfer
  • Read blueprints and set up parts
  • Interpret welding requirement from symbols on blueprints
  • Quality control experience
  • Inspection and testing
  • Use welding codes and procedures

In addition to the aboveminimumrequirements at leastoneof the following must be met:
  • At least one 1 total year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years OR;
  • At least two 2 total years of teaching Welding (see above) course work at the postsecondary level within the last five years. (One 1 year of teaching experience equivalent to two 2 semesters fulltime of four 4 semesters parttime

Industry or Vendor Certification:

Oneof the following will be required withintwo 2 years of employment start date:
  • American Welding Society (AWS)
  • Certified Welding Educator (CWE)
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CW

Preferred but not required to have the following:
  • State of WI weld certifications and/or Journey level status in an occupational area that is part of the welding trades; steamfitter boilermaker sheet metal or ironworker.

Online Information Management Systems Experience with SelfService or other online information management systems used for student advising student programs grading class schedules and rosters
Blackboard Ultra Experience with Blackboard or other webbased course management systems
Technologybased Instruction Experience with technologybased instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium interactive touch screen monitors LCD projectors DVD players and/or other classroom technology
Emerging Technologies Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)Emerging Technologies Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing Construction and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in theFall 2025 academic semester; 16week courses start midAugust.

Job Details: This parttime pool position and will require teaching courses at MATC campuses.
Musthave availability to begin teaching on site no later than 4:30 pm during the week.
Hours and location are based on enrollment and departmental need each semester.
Modality is fully inperson.
Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited

Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all parttime faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Parttime faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is nonnegotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.
