What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for aCorporate Counselto join our Legal team inCanton MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and actiondriven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Review draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts including supply agreements sales agreements vendor service agreements NDAs IT agreements license agreements and other general corporate agreements with varying degrees of complexity and risks in the region.
- Actively engage with internal clients from multiple business units and department customers vendors and other third parties.
- Provide strategic legal support and guidance on various transactional corporate employment and compliance matters.
- Work with members of management and the legal department on various projects as assigned.
What you will bring to the table:
- Juris Doctor and member of the American Bar Association
- 2 to 4 years of experience years of relevant experience in a major law firm a multinational corporation or both.
- Experience in the automotive industry and knowledge of OE supplier terms and conditions are preferred
- Solid and efficient drafting skills with knowledge of standard contracting administration procedures concepts principles and methods.
- Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (Article 2 and extensive experience reviewing negotiating and drafting wide variety of contracts (e.g. sales supply contracts).
- Experience with corporate transactions (e.g. acquisitions divestitures joint ventures) and the corporate secretarial function (e.g. corporate partnership and limited liability company formation operation and maintenance).
- Up to 30 travel required
- Results oriented; effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines ability to prioritize conflicting demands organize time and resources to deliver consistent results for the business and bring assignments to successful completion.
- High degree of business acumen; strong technical aptitude; proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Key Competencies: analytical thinking and problem solving excellent written and oral communication skills strong interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization demonstrated negotiation skills solid ability to make judgement calls under pressure
