Mason County Sheriffs Office Employment Standards

Essential Functions

This is work performed to provide care and custody of adult prisoners and to maintain order and discipline among the prisoners of the Mason County Jail. Employees in this classification are responsible for the operation of the jail on a 24hour 7dayaweek basis and the direct and indirect supervision of inmates.

Retirement: Public Safety Employees Retirement System (PSERS) Plan 2 is a 401(a) lifetime retirement pension plan available to public safety employees in Washington. PSERS Plan 2 employee contribution rate: 6.73 with additional County contributions

Clothing Allowance:$75.00 per month

Education Pay: AA Degree 1.5 BA Degree 3 Masters Degree 4.5

Bilingual Pay: Fluency $75.00 per month Medical Certification $100.00 per month Legal Court Certification $125.00 per month

Leave:2 Floating Holidays 2 Premium Days 96 hours of Sick Leave and 96 hours of Vacation Leave

Holiday: Employees receive additional pay for the 12 recognized holidays

Medical Dental Vision:Employer paid with no additional cost for eligible dependents

Life / AD&D: Employer paid basic life and AD&D insurance

Longevity:The County provides additional monthly compensation to recognize continuous length of service for the 6th through 10th year: $65.00 11th through 14th year: $90.00 15th through 19th year: $130.00 20th through 24th year: $150.00 and 25th year and over $165.00.

Officer in Charge: Additional $3.00 per hour while working in capacity
