Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician/General Laborer/FullTime
Department:Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Operations
Salary: $18.00 per hour nonexempt with benefits (reviewed after 90 day probation period)
Position Summary: Lakeside Chautauqua is a nonprofit organization located on one square mile of waterfront property on the Marblehead Peninsular. While we operate yearround our busy season is from Memorial Day until Labor Day when we welcome thousands of guests to enjoy all that Lakeside has to offer.
This position will operate within the Maintenance department and will be responsible for maintaining and improving the physical facilities of the Lakeside Association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (To include other duties that may be assigned.
- Performs work according to standard procedure and by buildings operational schedule.
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
- Perform drywall and plaster repairs.
- Performs touch up and finish painting.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Sets up and tears down chairs tables and equipment in meeting rooms and function rooms.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Will clean maintain and identify needed repairs on The Lakeside Association maintenance vehicles.
- Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License.
- Ability to apply basic math concepts.
- A good working knowledge of building equipment carpentry electrical plumbing and general maintenance preferred.
- Pool and splash pad experience a plus.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the operation.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop climb or balance; specific vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and material. Must be able to frequently move tables and chairs. Must be able to climb ladders scaffolding etc. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment:
Riding in or driving a vehicle (golf cart or truck) walking the grounds in many different types of weather and being able to make quick judgements.
Successful candidates should be able to be physically active with high energy and a positive serviceminded attitude who enjoy a fastpaced environment.
