The Senior Test Development Engineer designs functional reliable and costeffective heavyduty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or redesign and development of components into existing and new vehicles. Provide integration and support for vehicle and component design.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under supervision perform engineering calculations investigations and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans designs computation methods and/or reporting.
  • Oversee an engineering testing fleet of bodies and chassis.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity.
  • May be responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers designers or technicians working on a common project.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers internal and external customers and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance safety and reliability.
  • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts drawings specifications and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts components and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance for production support.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Prepare technical proposals quotations reports and presentations.
  • Create and maintain project documentation for analysis research and historical records.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited bachelors degree in engineering or related field with three 3 or more years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Has the ability to obtain or currently has a CDL with an airbrake endorsement
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavyvehicle equipment and related systems.
  • Experience with a highlevel CAD system.

Pay Range:

$72200.00 $116200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
