JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Campus Monitor supervises students as well as campus monitors. The position is approximately 40 project and people supervision with the other 60 comprising campus monitor duties and responsibilities which include monitoring and supporting students during lunch and passing breaks to ensure a safe secure and comfortable environment conducive to student interaction and learning. Upholds the mission and values established by Aspire Public Schools. Reports to Site Principal and works closely with other site staff.

Project and People Supervision
Schedule campus monitor assignments
Provide supervision oversight and feedback to campus monitors
Confer with the principal regarding updates/issues with campus monitor staff
Ensure campus monitors have access to ongoing professional development opportunities
Manage equipment and playground safety daily
Ongoing Activities
Supervise students during lunch / recess and passing periods including enforcing school rules school boundaries and school behavior expectations
Ensure a safe environment in the lunchroom school grounds and/or parking lot
Work with other school staff to ensure sufficient level of supervision coverage in all areas of the lunch room school yards and parking lot
Help mediate and resolve conflicts between students
Serve as primary responder for behavior issues and needs
Administer first aid as needed
Identify any major security or safety hazards and major repair needs in the recess area and ensures safety rules are followed
Complete accident reports and manage computer logs
Additional:

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good problem solving ability; sound judgment
Ability to interact appropriately with children of all ages
Bilingual Spanish and English
Computer and Internet search skills
California Drivers License
Minimum educational level:
High School Diploma or equivalence plus some college experience
First Aid and valid CPR training
Ongoing behavior management / deescalation and SPED training demonstrating general knowledge of how to support all students
Experience required:
Physical requirements:
Stand walk or bend over kneel crouch reach overhead grasp push and pull. Move lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height
Repetitive use of hands (i.e. fine manipulation simple grasping and power grasping)
Demonstrate normal depth perception
Sitting walking or standing for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard operate standard office equipment and use a telephone
See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids
Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without auditory aides
Work authorization requirements:
Clear the Department of Justice background screening
Authorized to work in the United States
Provide health (TB) clearance (updated every four years)
