Academic Coaching and Tutoring:
o Provide individualized and group academic support focusing on nursing concepts study strategies testtaking skills and clinical reasoning.
o Identify atrisk students and develop personalized plans to address academic challenges.
o Serve as a compass to help students navigate their academic journey offering tailored strategies to enhance study skills and time management.
Teaching Responsibilities:
o Teach assigned nursing courses within the LPN program holding a one to a maximum of six credit workload per semester as determined by management.
o Facilitate Student Success sections and assist in the Lab/Simulations as needed ensuring alignment with program objectives.
Curriculum Support and Student Progress Monitoring:
o Collaborate with nursing faculty to enhance curriculum and instruction.
o Track and analyze student performance to identify trends and areas of need providing feedback and adjustments to support strategies.
Professional Development Workshops and Resource Development:
o Design and deliver workshops on study skills exam preparation and stress management.
o Create and maintain academic support materials including study guides and instructional videos.
o Host group study skills sessions. These sessions focus on teaching essential academic strategies promoting peer learning and creating a supportive community. Topics covered may range from time management and study techniques to exam preparation.
Goal Setting Monitoring and Personal Growth Development:
o Assist students in setting realistic goals monitoring progress and fostering a growth mentality to embrace challenges as opportunities.
o Encourage selfreflection resilience and a positive attitude towards personal and academic hurdles.
Institutional Support Networking and Collaboration:
o Connect students with resources advising and career development programs.
o Facilitate networking with peers mentors and professionals within the nursing field to enhance educational and career opportunities.
o Work closely with faculty and program director to ensure a coordinated approach to student success advocating for student needs.
Additional Duties
Office Hours:
o The Student Success Coach is required to maintain an inperson oncampus presence with appointments for students primarily in the afternoons once classes have concluded. This schedule is designed to maximize accessibility to students seeking individualized support advice and mentorship outside of the classroom environment.
Committee Participation:
o Serve on program departmental or institutional committees as required contributing to the governance and advancement of the LPN program and the institution.
Professional Development:
o Stay updated with advancements in nursing education and practice. Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and clinical expertise.
Other Duties:
o Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals. This may include taking on special projects attending additional training sessions and working on crossfunctional teams as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Candidate must have either a bachelor degree or master degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN). If candidate does not have an MSN must be matriculated in an MSN accredited program or complete an MSN program within four 4 years of being hired.
Licensure: Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience; prior teaching experience in a nursing education program is highly desirable.
Certifications: Certification in a nursing specialty or education (e.g. CNE Certified Nurse Educator) is advantageous. Preferred
