An ophthalmologist has the knowledge and professional skills needed to provide comprehensive eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists are medically trained to diagnose monitor and medically or surgically treat all ocular and visual disorders. This includes problems affecting the eye and its component structures the eyelids the orbit and the visual pathways.Job Duties:
Geisinger is seeking a Cornea trained Ophthalmologist to fill a rewarding position in the Department of Ophthalmology at the new Healthplex in Pittston Pennsylvania. Located near Scranton/ Wilkes Barre in Northeast PA close to the Pocono Mountains.
Geisinger Eye Institute: a driven successful and growing multispecialty group integrating both optometric and ophthalmologic services.
Advanced technologies in diagnostic FA Fundus Camera HVF Goldman Field IOL Master Immersion OCT Pachymetry UBM Idesign anterior segment OCT and Topography
Treatment options including SLT Laser YAG Laser Argon Laser excimer laser
Support from Optometrists
Practice location has 50 exam rooms located at the outpatient surgery center
Shared call (home call)
A large referral base from our onsite Optometrists local Ophthalmologists and physicians in our satellite offices
Opportunity to perform cross linking LASIK DSEK DMEK Opportunities to develop new program perform research and teach residents in a large tertiary referral center.
