The Department of Dermatology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University isrecruiting a boardcertified dermatologist to serve as Director of Hospitalbased Dermatology.
The Department of Dermatology at Brown is the largest academic and nonprofit faculty group providing comprehensive dermatologic care in the State of Rhode Island extending to Southern Massachusetts and Eastern Connecticut. The dermatology clinical service spans two health systems/seven hospitals (Lifespan and Care New England) and the Providence VA. The patientmix is broad transcending general dermatology inpatient dermatology community dermatology complex medical pediatric procedural and aesthetic dermatology. An allencompassing Department Brown Dermatology has its own Division of Dermatopathology Division of Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Surgery and the Division of Pediatric Dermatology. The faculty lead community outreach programs regionally (Rhode Island Free Clinic Sun Smarts Program) and internationally (Amman Jordan through the International Medical Corps and Eldoret Kenya through AMPATH). There are myriad teaching opportunities available to faculty across the medical school and dermatology residency training program and through advanced fellowships e.g. DermatologyRheumatology/Complex Medical Dermatology Fellowship DermEpi Research Fellowship and Dermatopathology Fellowship.
Site description:Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) is a 719bed academic hospital Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center and the principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University located in Providence Rhode Island. RIH is directly attached to the outpatient Brown Dermatology center the Ambulatory Patient Care Center 10th Floor.
