Job Summary
The Department of Accounting Taxation and Law in the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey is accepting applications for a tenuretrack position in Accounting at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank with a fall 2019 start date. Silberman College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs that have earned AACSB accreditation. The College has been consistently included by the Princeton Review in its listing of Best Business Schools in the country. The department offers a BS in accounting a combined BS/MS in accounting program (winner of the AAAs Innovation in Accounting Education Award) as well as an MS in accounting program for those without an undergraduate accounting background. In recent years some of the highest scores on the NJ CPA licensing exam have been posted by our graduates. The departments MS in Taxation program is one of the oldest and largest programs in the state. The department has more than 450 students enrolled in its various programs. Fairleigh Dickinson founded in 1942 is a private coeducational university with an enrollment of more than 12000 undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the United States and the world. The Metropolitan Campus is located 10 miles from the heart of New York City and the College of Florham Campus is located 35 miles from New York City near historic Morristown New Jersey. The University also has overseas campuses in Wroxton England and Vancouver British Columbia. Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in an Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution with evidence of or potential for high quality teaching and scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level accounting courses. The normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester for faculty engaged in research. Summer research support opportunities are available. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in teaching in the areas of audit data analytics and / or costmanagerial accounting. Professional certifications CPA CMA CFP or similar) and relevant professional work experience are highly desirable. Salary and benefits are competitive with AACSB accredited institutions. Candidates must have a doctoral degree by the start of the appointment. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card. The position is subject to budgetary funding and approval.
