Job Summary
To provide assistance in the overall function of the Colleges Auxiliary and Budget Office. This includes assist to prepare and process the Colleges budget departmental and project operating budgets and Legislative Request documents; perform complex budget analysis work involving project management tracking and budget amendments; and to provide professional assistance and support to the Colleges Director of Financial Analysis Auxiliary and Budget in the preparation of budgetrelated analysis and reports.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide assistance in the analysis preparation and compilation of annual operating budget documents. Provide assistance pertaining to the assembly and distribution of budget requests and budgets. Provide assistance in the allocation of yearly budgets and process budget change form requests. Process entries for updates to current year budget with amendments and/or budget transfers into the accounting system. Maintains comprehensive project list and associated budget with each. Provide assistance to monitor progress and completion of projects as compared to budget. Provide assistance to develop and update a tenyear budget plan. Provide assistance in the preparation of Legislative Appropriations Requests. Provide assistance to design and implement statistical data and schedules preparation requirements via computer system and account software. Provide assistance to handle and resolve issues (internal and external) regarding the budget. Provide assistance to recommend changes/improvements in accounting budgeting and reporting procedures. Maintains files and accurate records of budget entries to document budget activity. Provide assistance to evaluate chart of accounts on a quarterly basis or as required by request and make recommendations. Read and keep up to date with all budget and financial materials for the College and other higher institutions. Provide assistance with auxiliary enterprise by purchasing and monitoring inventory and generating sales taxes cost of goods sold and profit and loss calculation reports. Produce standard operating procedures manuals for routine processes to facilitate complex transactions and to standardize procedures as needed. Complete duties and responsibilities in compliance with College standards policies and guidelines. Use interpersonal skills and make sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers the supervisory chain faculty staff students and customers. Participates in the development of outcomes monitors assessment of those appropriate outcomes and assists in the development of plans of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes. Participates in the process for systematic review and evaluation per the institutional effectiveness model adopted by the College. Complete all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by the Texas Southmost College TSC . Support the values and institutional goals as defined in the Colleges Strategic Plan. Attend the workplace regularly reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite. Working hours may include evenings holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events. Performs work in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
