Overview:
Audacys KCBS All News Radio The Bay Areas number one news station is looking for an intrepid and techsavvy journalist with a positive attitude and impressive work ethic to join an elite news team.
KCBS is a 24/7 live and local news station. The fulltime afternoon news producer schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday or Wednesday through Sunday with a start time of 10a 10:30a or 11a subject to change based on station and news/coverage needs.
Responsibilities
What Youll Do:
- Edit and produce newscasts (including but not limited to selecting editing and/or writing news content)
- Manage the flow of news and information (including but not limited to receiving and researching news tips calling on breaking stories conducting offair interviews with officials and newsmakers)
- Edit audio for broadcast and digital assets
- Collaborate with colleagues about news coverage (i.e. propose and contribute to daily and longterm coverage plans)
- Research and arrange compelling live and prerecorded interviews
- Promote news coverage on a variety of channels including broadcast social media the Audacy app and station website
- Contribute content to the stations social media channels the Audacy app and the station website KCBSradio
- Protect the stations FCC license
- Other duties as required by management
- Must be available to work all hours overnights and weekends and be amenable to changes in work shift
- Required to join SAGAFTRA
Qualifications
Required & Preferred:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Candidates must be able to take a detailoriented approach to work while meeting tight deadlines.
- You must be creative and proactive.
- Must be a proficient news gatherer who uses a variety of sources and is comfortable with audio and video editing equipment and programs.
- Journalism background strong capability of collaborating with colleagues and feels comfortable pitching story and interview ideas to colleagues.
- You will be expected to actively participate on various social media channels and contribute content to the stations digital assets including the Audacy app and station website KCBSradio.
- Experience in the San Francisco market is a plus but not required.

Additional Information
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated starting salary range for Californiabased individuals expressing interest in this position and per SAGAFTRA 184 is $21.03/hr $35.96/hr.
Salary to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills abilities and location of the applicant as well as internal and external equity.
